SPC, Jakarta– Businessman Sukotjo S. Bambang, a convict in a graft-tainted procurement of driving simulator devices, revealed its tricks to bribe top police officials.
Through his lawyer, Erick Samuel Paat, Bambang said he always prepared two souvenirs for the police who come to his office in Gempol Sari, Bandung. They were brownies cake and Bandung molen.
“Inside the souvenir box, he always wedged in envelopes containing money, the amount varies on the officer’s rank,” Eric said, imitated Bambang’s statement on August 2.
The value of the money varies in between Rp 2.5 million to Rp 15 million. For Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) and Commisioner of Police Purpose (Kombes), normally given Rp 15 million.
Erick said the police who came to his client’s office were from the division of supervision and control from Jakarta headquarter office.
“In the office they had a chit chat on various topics, then went home with that distinctive souvenir, plus the envelope,” Erick said.
In 2010, Eric said Sukotjo digged his pocket up to Rp 2 billion to serve his “police guess.”
